MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
The second MitM III Primer will be held on Saturday, March 3rd 2012 at Collectormania. The Primer will consist of 3 Rounds, with each Round lasting a maximum of 2.5 hours. A 600 pt. Army is required, with Army construction abiding by the rules set forth in the new "Warband Sourcebooks" released Feb. 4th 2012 by Games-workshop. Note: for this event, there will be NO "minimum painting requirement". Models must be assembled, glued on their bases, and WYSIWYG applies, but beyond that there are no other requirements with regards to painting or basing. And yes, reasonable proxies are allowed, although I do recommend any use of proxies is approved by myself beforehand. Also keep in mind, it will be nigh impossible for a Player with an unpainted Army to win Best Overall, or Best Appearance. However, such Players would still qualify for Best General and Best Sportsman. As alluded to above, Prizes will be awarded to the top player in each of the 4 following categories: Best Overall, Best General, Best Appearance, and Best Sportsman. Prizes will be provided by Collectormania - so thanks Chris and Eric!!! A tentative schedule for the Primer will be as follows: 0930: Arrival/Check-in 1000 - 1230: Round 1 1230 - 0130: Lunch*** Note: Lunch will NOT be provided at this Event! 0145 - 0415: Round 2 0415 - 0430: Break 0430 - 0700: Round 3 Award Ceremony to follow shortly after completion of Round 3 Entry fee: $15, payable to the Ward bros. at Collectormania. Yes, you can pay "at the door" on the day of the Event. Please send your Army List to me ASAP either via PM here on the AMH website, or via e-mail to

THE BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH LEAGUE
I realize this announcement comes a tad late, (we're about to start Week 3 on Thurs. Jan. 26th), but one of the League players made mention of the idea to me today and it seemed like a good one. And so without further adieu, let's get to the details.
This is a 6 week long League featuring LOTR SBG, pitting Good against Evil in a Battle for Middle Earth. The rules for the League are quite lax, as the primary objective is simply to get people playing the game. For this reason, if you didn't sign-up before the League started, you can still play. If you know ahead of time that you simply will not be able to make it every Thurs., you can still play. I think you get the point. Ok, nuts and bolts time:
Where: Collectormania, in Parker Colorado.
When: We meet as a "club" every Thursday night starting around 6PM. Week Three will run from Thurs. Jan 26th through Wed. Feb 1st. Week Four will then start Thurs. Feb 2nd. If you arrange a game with another player in the League at a time other than Thurs. night, that game will still count towards the League standings!
Requirements: Besides having fun, you'll need an Army. We typically play either 350 or 600 pt. games. However, if you and your opponent wish to play a game using a different amount of points, that's fine too! Army construction MUST follow the rules set forth in Legions of Middle Earth. Armies DO NOT have to be painted, although it is recommended that your models follow the WYSIWYG rules for ease of play.
Other Stuff: As the theme for the League is Good vs Evil, only those games in which a Good army squares off against an Evil army will count towards the League standings. That being said, we also track "Individual Points" and so if you play a game in which Good fights Good, or Evil fights Evil, any points gained will count towards your individual score.
The complete details and rules for the League are found here.
Hope to see ya' there! Baruk Khazad! Khazad Ai-Menu!!! |

The Dec. MitM III Primer has Concluded! |

And so the never-ending battle for control of Middle Earth has temporarily paused as Saruman and his Legions stand victorious over all that came before them! 8 Generals met, each intending to stake their claim for control of the central passes through the Misty Mountains. Only one prevailed...The results for this Primer are as follows:
BEST OVERALL: Tony Hunter/ Uruk Hai led by Saruman
BEST GENERAL: Chris Ward/ Galadhrim led by Rumil
BEST ARMY: Rob Kruse/ featuring a Balrog, a Nazghul and a Mordor Troll Chieftain
BEST SPORTSMAN: Jonathan Jaynes/ Galadhrim led by Rumil
Once again, I'd like to thank all the Participants who dared to enter the foray. I'd also like to thank the Wards for hosting yet another LOTR SBG event at Collectormania. I felt the event was a huge success, and inspired by the preceedings I have ventured on to start updating the Mayhem in the Mountains sections of this website for the upcoming MitM III. Having new blood in the group has made me realize that a lot of pertinent information to the Mechanics of a Tournament has been "assumed" or left out as I mistakenly thought it was inherent in the process having been involved in LOTR SBG GTs for many years now. I think by delineating some of these specifics, alot of confusion may be alleviated, and future Events will go even more smoothly, and Participants will be able to really focus on "having a Blast," right Saruman....errr, I mean Tony!
Cheers!
